By the late 1800s Pierre Vigny created one of the most complete and effective European stick fighting systems ever devised.
During the early to mid- twentieth century a number of military, police and martial arts establishments utilized the Vigny system for their own use.
These groups included the Kapap and Pal’mach Special Forces along with the inclusion in a 1940s supplemental manual for the United States H2H combat teams.
During the early 1920s Superintendent H.G.Lang of the Kathiawar Agency Police introduced a training syllabus for his men based on the Vigny method.
Over the course of time this syllabus would become the standard method of stick fighting for the Indian Police Force.
Volume 3, takes La Canne methods out of the gym and into the street, demonstrating the situational defensive use of the cane in common attack scenarios.
In addition to illustrating the practical self-defense application of La Canne, Gemeiner teaches you how to integrate walking stick and empty-hand tactics into a truly complete self-protection system.
