Who is Wim Hof?
Wim ‘The Iceman’ Hof has shown numerous times that the impossible is possible. Over the past 35 years he did all kinds of challenges. He was climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Everest in shorts, broke records by swimming under ice water, and ran half a marathon in the desert without drinking. He did all these challenges because he wanted to investigate and get everything out of life. He traveled around the world like a circus artist to show his “trick”. But he felt like there should be more and that this method really effected his body and mind.
But Wim Hof wanted more. He wanted recognition. “I am now a circus act, but want to be a scientist, my body is my laboratory,” he said in 2008, though in 2011 he was examined by scientists at the Radboud UMC and the result was remarkable. Wim was able to influence his autonomic nervous system something was being held until then impossible.
In 2013, research was done on a group of healthy young male volunteers: they now appear able to influence the autonomic nervous system and immune system.
